ARTIST BIO

My passion for art started as a child with a love for paints and colouring books.  On a wintry day, I would sketch or paint and I was thrilled to win my first awards as as teenager. 

Unique approaches have developed over the years and I continue to expand, and sometimes combine, different techniques. Early years began using oil, charcoal and ink, and presently I am enjoying acrylic mediums.

Inspirations emerge from the everchanging beauty of nature.  I love to include abstract elements, such as palette knife and textural additions, against gentle backgrounds.  With painting, work takes on a life of its own and each piece evolves with spontaneity.  That is what I love about original art and art communities.

Painting is a joy.  My aim is to evoke memories or moments of calm, freedom or beauty.
