ARTIST BIO

I began my career as a designer in the fashion industry and my interest and love of colour, texture and design has never waned. I now have replaced fabrics with tubes of paint and brushes and my studio is buzzing with colour.

I’m essentially self taught, though many wonderful tutors have certainly influenced and inspired me along my artistic journey. From my first China painted piece to ceramics and watercolour.

I progressed from smaller structured scenes to experimentation a style of abstract that began to emerge and in the process I discovered what was important to me in what I saw and felt when painting. I especially found joy in painting sky scenes, perhaps it’s because it can’t be touched!

People were beginning to express a keen interest in my art which led to my first solo exhibition. It was a great success and gave me the the confidence to keep painting. I have since had a number of very successful exhibitions.

My abstract watercolours are on paper where I strive to keep a little mystery as I guide the pigments to flow and blend to help create playful yet calming visions of colour.

My abstract acrylics are mostly on large canvases which have been a wonderful challenge. Working on a large scale has taught me to let go, be brave and in the process the many layers of carefully chosen pigments are layered which creates a translucency that changes with the light of day.

I constantly strive to create artwork that resonates and keeps the viewer engaged.

Grace Rose Bardini has been painting for many years beginning with award winning China painting and ceramics to pen and wash studies of sea side and country scenes. Graces works have been successfully shown and sold at many exhibitions making her art a popular addition to peoples collections.

Graces art has developed into abstract landscapes on a much larger scale where the challenge of her artwork is to enlighten the viewer and evoke joy. Grace feels it’s important for those who invest in her work, to know they are investing in their happiness, after all, the artwork is for their personal space. For Grace it’s about how the artwork makes one feel each time they gaze at it. Graces inspiration comes from her beautiful natural surrounds of the Penninsula and her travels around the world.
