ARTIST NOTES: Have to admit that this is one of my favourite creations. Three layers of acrylic paint applied intuitively until a abstract ocean and sky appeared in front of me. Markings added in different colours and mediums. I thought my creation required a boat to finish him off. For some reason I thought of the Split End song 'Six Months In a Leaky Boat' at the time, which led me to using a old distressed sheet of music to create the boat a a few fish collage pieces. Acrylic paint, oil pastel sticks, ink pen & collage pieces on 300gsm mixed media paper. Requires framing to hang.

ARTIST BIO

Rosemary’s artistic journey is a delightful adventure that showcases the power of creativity. From a young age, she found joy in artistic pursuits, but it wasn’t until her retirement, amid the quiet of countless covid lockdowns, that she truly reconnected with her passion for art.

With an eclectic style that celebrates whimsy, Rosemary’s paintings are a vibrant reflection of her playful spirit. Rather than sticking to a rigid plan, she lets her creativity flow, allowing each piece to reveal itself organically. As she layers colors and textures, her work takes on a life of its own, resulting in captivating pieces that invite viewers into her imaginative world.
Originally working solely with acrylics on canvas, Rosemary has since embraced an exciting variety of materials. Now, her mixed media artworks bring together paint, ink, soft pastels, oil sticks, and collage, transforming her creations into multidimensional expressions of her vision.
At the heart of Rosemary’s art is a simple yet powerful motivation: it makes her happy! The joy she feels while painting shines through in every piece she creates, and sharing that joy with others has ignited her passion even further. With numerous pieces sold and a growing audience, Rosemary is driven to continue creating and sharing her artwork, ensuring that her vibrant imagination remains a central part of her life for years to come.
