ARTIST BIO

Me and my Original Australian Art

Having travelled extensively through Europe as a young man, before settling and making my home in South Western Australia, my mind was opened to many cultures.

I like most artists, draw on my life’s experiences for my inspiration. My art is intended to transport you, the viewer, to a new place. That may be an actual place like Uluru, or perhaps a place that is brought to life in the viewer’s mind’s eye by the scene and brushstrokes. I paint both from reference subjects and my imagination. I make my art to express the vibrancy of life.

As a proponent of outsider art, I love to experiment with abstract painting techniques like paint pouring or painting with chains, or other unusual objects to achieve dynamic free artwork on canvas board or stretched canvas. I also paint landscapes which are my interpretation of Mother Natures' wonderful world. I do this using oil paints or acrylics on canvas board, stretched canvas or canvas paper. Furthermore, I also paint with pastels on speciality paper.
